February 26, 2016

wow what a week, congrats to my lovely sister and Connor who are now engaged! I'm very excited for the both of you. And thank you for picking a date so I can attend to! love you both.

Things have been going wonderfully! Elder Wheeler and I get along so well that its not even funny, actually it is pretty funny. Elder Wheeler doubles between a champion of a missionary and a comedian. We are seriously laughing all of the time, he specializes in puns, we have a bunch written down and I will have to send them sometime.

The ward is doing really well. We have been finding a lot of new people to teach and its been wonderful. It took us a while to be able to get our footing. but we have a pro active ward mission team that makes everything so much better! His name is brother Scanlan, he is from Samoa, he is so faithful! Brother Scanlan is all about action so we are planning a giant party (luau) however you spell it, the Hawaiian party. and a huge chapel tour, its going to take a lot to get it all together but hopefully it goes smooth. This last week him and a few of the other ward missionaries came out and went tracting with us, I think that was my first time on the mission! It really stood out to me because some people view ward missionary as an "easy" calling, but every single calling in the church is important! everyone plays a vital role, every person has the chance to exceed what they thought was possible as long as they petition the Lord! I love the Gospel and the way that it is organized. As Elder Uchtdorf said, "stand close together and lift where you stand" he said that while talking about moving a grand piano but then he related it to the gospel! lifting in your designated spot/calling. "nobody can or should try to move a piano alone, The same is with the church" everyone needs to lift together! and God will help us when we don't feel we have enough strength.

so I had a big growing moment this week. Since we serve in a predominantly Chinese area, the previous missionaries set up English teaching class. That responsibility fell on Elder Wheelers and my shoulders. I don't know if you remember my English skills back at home but they were less than average. I wish you could have seen my trying to explain to Peter, a Chinese man, (and also myself) what a vowel was and why they are so important. Good thing Elder Wheeler is a master and saved the day! We will be teaching again every week but we will be better prepared next week.

Thank you for all those that sent Chinese words, they helped,
and thanks for sending the miracles that you have! I love them! keep sending missionary experiences.

love Elder Wiser

I believe I can fly

This is the sweetest lady ever her name is Katie
we found her while trying to find a less active in her area.
She loves the book of Mormon! so great!

This is when we went tracting on elder street!
I thought it was effective.

a cool jump photo,
we had to take 50 to get this one to turn out good.

and balancing act.

Elder Wiser has a birthday on March 4th
If you would like to write him a birthday message here is his address:

Elder Stanton Wiser
Australia Melbourne Mission
76 Cathie's lane
Wantirna South VIC 3152
Australia

Here is his letter from this week-

So this has been a roller coaster of a week. We had a lot of ups and downs. At the beginning of the week we found out what day Elder Shreeve would get his flight home. A few of his flights were cancelled on the way home so he ended up staying the night alone in a hotel! Most terrifying thing! But he made it home safe and he should be having surgery this coming Tuesday! I miss him to death. But he will be back serving after the surgery! So I sent a picture of our last night together! We stayed in the mission home with President and Sister Vidmar.

MIRACLE: We received a referral last week from the city missionaries. They had met a young lad and he said that he was interested. So once we got his details we went over to his house. Blake is 17 years old, he just moved from Vietnam two weeks ago. He moved by himself and is living with a Chinese host family. He cannot communicate with them unless he uses a translator. So he is in a foreign land by himself. He expressed his desire to learn if their was a God. He felt like something has been missing and he doesn't have a direction! We shared with him the message of the restoration and how God, in a great expression of love, restored His full gospel back to the earth today. We have the ability to find out the truth for ourselves by praying! He said a very sincere closing prayer and asked for a witness if God is really there. He also said "if this is the true church then I am willing to join. He is working towards the baptismal date of March 18! its so cool to see how the Lord works. Elder Wheeler and I still don't really know the area but after praying and fasting people are coming out of the woodworks. I love missionary work! Its so rewarding! even though I am imperfect, if I have the right desires, then the Lord uses me as an instrument! There is nothing greater than seeing peoples lives change for the better! I love this Gospel so much! It is true! The fullness of the Gospel is on the earth. Its the same church that Jesus Christ set up! There is a prophet on the earth that has the authority to say "thus sayeth the Lord." "If you have desires to serve God you are called to the work, the field is white already to harvest"!

I love you all

please keep sending your miracles I love them

Love Elder Wiser and Wheeler (from the 801)

This is a sketchy bowling alley in the middle of no where
on the top floor of a rundown building!
But we had a good time! I bowled 138 and 133
which I felt good about until the owner,
who was blind bowled standing backwards and
got two strikes! haha he was the man!

so we had a mission visit by Steven B Allen
(head director of the missionary department for 18 years)
and we decided to match as a zone!
so we are all wearing navy blue!

ni how ma

I don't actually know how to spell it but "ni how ma" is how it sounds, it means how are you? In Chinese. So week one with my mates Elder Wheeler and Shreeve! We live in an area that is really close to the city! The culture is predominantly Chinese. If you have any useful Chinese sentences then send them through! So the roads are so crazy. At first I was the designated driver but I pulled out into on coming traffic while waiting at a red light! Nobody was injured but now Elder Wheeler drives! hahah it was good. I learned how to drive on back roads.

Since we live close to the city we get a lot of referrals for people who request the book of Mormon! So we get to deliver the Book of Mormon. Its been great! We met an elderly man named David! He has family that are members and when he saw the 'I'm a Mormon" ads on TV he wanted one! So he will be reading it and we will follow up this Tuesday! Its such an amazing time to be a missionary! The Gospel is being spread so quickly via the internet! people recognize us wherever we go and talk to us! and the word "Mormon" is on everyone's minds. Its truly a "marvellous work and a wonder" I love the Book of Mormon so much! I love being able to look people in the eye and say "this is the word of God" "this book contains the fullness of the Gospel" "this book WILL bring you peace" "you can find your purpose inside of this book". I know that the Book of Mormon was written for our day! We can find greater sense of purpose and greater strength!

This last week I studied 1 Nephi 8-13 the vision of the tree of life! Its so amazing! Especially the way the fruit is described in 1 Nephi 8:10. the love of God is the most desirable thing! and we have it! We have felt it! and Alma asks us "can ye feel so now?" What is stopping us to share it with our friends? My life has been blessed so much as I have tried to help others! Will you find one person this week and share a portion of Gods love with them? Whether it is a compliment, sharing the Book of Mormon, your testimony, or inviting them to church! I know that when you try your best the Lord will put the words in your mouth!

love you all! (wo eye knee)

love Elder Wiser

I don't know if you remember these fellas!

February 5, 2017

So first off, I would like to start off with some breaking news. . . dum dum da duummm. It is transfers again (going by way to fast) and president gave me a call and let me know that I would be leaving Cranbourne. . . there are so many people that I love here! I served in Cranbourne for 7 1/2 months. I will never forget the people that I met in this beautiful place! But I will be moving into another area called Doncaster in Maroonda stake! I started my mission in a different ward in Maroonda stake so it will be good to be back. I will be trippled into Doncaster and you will never guess who my two new companions are. . . . . . Elder Shreeve, that wonderful elder that served in the same zone as me last transfer and we became the best of friends and also Elder Bryce Wheeler. YES!! Bryce Wheeler from Pleasant View Utah! The very same elder that I went to school with! What are the chances!!! I'm so excited to serve with these two saints! The blessing is all mine!

Today we got permission to go down to Southern Cross station in Melbourne city to see all the Book of Mormon adverts (advertisements) it was so crazy! So the famous Book of Mormon play has come to Melbourne, and to help people understand what the Book of Mormon is really about. They filled one of the biggest public transport stations with ads for the Church and websites. If you want to see more check out Book of Mormon Southern Cross station! We took some of the greatest pictures of all time. Sadly my digital camera broke so I'm getting it fixed this week, but I will be able to send you all of the pictures next week once I get them transferred to my usb!

Last week I told you that I would update you on Dorothy! Dorothy is 83 years old! and she is so excited to learn about the Gospel. in PMG it says that you can tell when people are Progressing because they recognise you as servants of the Lord and keep the commitments that you leave with them! Dorothy calls us her three mentors and she goes above and beyond on all of the commitments we leave her. She has read up to Jacob 5 out of the  Book of Mormon and she says  "there is power in this book, whenever I read it I feel this wonderful presence, something that urges me to keep reading" and she often stays up well past midnight because she gets so caught up in the stories that she looses track of time! Last week their was a baptism for other elders in the zone and we invited along Dorothy, just so she could experience it! She sat next to me and was very excited the whole time! The spirit was so strong and I knew that she had felt it. After the baptism I asked her how she felt . . ."complete peace" she said, and so I asked her when she would like to get baptised and she said rather quickly " TOMORROW". But she ended up going home and praying about a date in her head and that day is March 11th. She is beyond ready, and she asked me to give a talk at her baptism just to ensure that I would be able to come back! Its so amazing to see her excitement with the gospel, it is never to late to kindle or re kindle our feelings of God. Whenever we increase our commitment to Him we will be blessed, and be able to feel the exact same joy that Dorothy is feeling! and I feel the joy to! If you do missionary work you will find joy! I invite you to look for that one person that keeps coming to your mind whether they are a member or not and invite them to partake of the gospel! 1 ne 8:10.

I know that reading the Book of Mormon strengthens our relationship with God! When we express our love for him through keeping All his commandments, then we immediately are enveloped in his love! its Part of Gods plan that we are happy, because he loves us!

have a great week.
let me know what your friend says when you extend an invitation to the Gospel.

love Elder Wiser
