Hello Everyone!
These weeks are going by so fast! It really scares me how fast time is going, but I love being out here, I love serving my mission! Elder Ferris and I always talk about how we will never be able to have these amazing experiences again. The mission is amazing. This week everyone seemed to be busy and so a lot of our investigators were not home or they didn't answer the door, but we did get to meet with Brad and Josh, the father and son, and we taught them about the Book of Mormon and we read a chapter with them. They struggle to understand much out of it, but they have strong faith in Christ! so we are just trying to find simple ways to apply the gospel to them. We have been trying to relate the teachings of the Gospel to Tennis and Australian Rules football and they seem to enjoy that pretty well, its really cool to see how the coaches in sports relate to the prophet, and the daily practice relates to our diligence in reading the gospel and praying! But they are progressing, slowly but surely! our most progressing investigator is Adam, he is a 12 year old boy! He has been coming to mutual and making really good friends with the other youth! it has started to change him, just the friendship of people in the area has started to soften his heart! we are going to meet with him this coming Wednesday and teach about repentance and baptism and the gift of the holy Ghost!

So like I said last week so have been double dutch jump roping , I didn't get any pictures of me but I will send a picture of another missionary in the zone! Because we do it almost every morning we all have really really bad shin splints! haha but its so worth it! just to brag about my comp, he entered the double dutch with a blind fold and then started skipping a personal jump rope, jumping three ropes spinning different ways all while blind folded!!! im not to that point but I will be soon!
This week we have been blessed to receive council from stake representatives and also President Maxwell and his councillors about how to run our areas smoother! I am so thankful that they helped us to see what we could do better! it just really made me think about how thankful I am that I am surrounded by such loving leaders that are willing to take their time to help us grow! and I am so grateful that we have prophets and apostles that have given their lives just to better ours! I know that they are called of God, and that they will not, and cannot lead us astray! if we listen to their council we will be blessed! I love this gospel, the more I learn and understand the happier I am! I invite you to trust in our leaders! have a great week!

love Elder Wiser!

April 25, 2016

This week was another awesome week! Every day on the mission is just awesome! My companion and I got some new hobbies the last few weeks. I would have never guessed that I would have enjoyed them but we have started to play tennis with the members on preperation day! its so much harder than I expected! but its way fun! and the other hobbie is double dutch jump roping! The one that all of the elementry school girls do where they spin two ropes in opposite directions and you jump in the middle hahah Elder Ferris and I both really like jump roping and we decieded to try the "dutching" and now the whole zone is in on it and we wake up early to meet and "dutch" for our morning excercise hahaha who would have known!
But our area is doing really good, our most progressing investigatior is named Adam. He is a 12 year old and he lives with his Grandma who is a member. He asks some really deep doctrine questions but we are just focusing on building his testimony. He is working to be baptized on the 21 of May. and we are really excited for him. and we found some new investigators this week that we are excited to meet with again next week. but we had a miracle. this woman in our ward asked us for a blessing. she is about to go on a mission and she is the only member in her family and her family is against the church, when she told her mom she was going on a mission her mother stopped telling her that she loved her.  she has been struggling finding work to save up for her mission, and she was sick all at the same time. so she asked if we could give her a blessing, and in the blessing there was some really big promises about her health and work and also about the softening of her families hearts. but two days later she texted us and told us that after the blessing she recovered from her sickness in time to go to a job interview that she got. and not only did they want her to start, they wanted her to start the very next day, and they increased her pay to way more that she had expected! it was a strong testimony builder of the priesthood power! it is truly Gods power on the earth today, i felt so blessed to be able to participate in that blessing. I know that our prophet and apostles are lead by that exact same power! if you are struggling with anything and you dont feel like there is anything else you can do, than ask for a priesthood blessing. its amazing to see the Lords hand in the work every single day! When we do our best then the Lord will take care of the rest, but only if we do our best :) I love you all so much, I hope that you have an amazing week, I'm praying for you always!

this is a liquid cooled computer. . . . . . . .one of the former members of the church invited us into his house while tracting to show us his new hobbie. he likes to build computers that have radiatiors!

this is the tongatukino family ! we are teaching their 8 year old daughter the missionary lessons before she is baptized! this is tj he is so cute!

the sisters baked us a cake, and as a miracle for nan right after we did the fast for grandma!

April 17, 2016

Hello!!

So we got transfer news!!!!!!!!!!!!! yayayay I will be staying for another transfer with Elder Ferris in Dandenong! I couldn't be more happy! We have been having a blast! and he is such an amazing teacher and so I learn a lot from him, but this week we have had some serious miracles.
One of them was, Elder Ferris and I have been focusing on asking inspired questions and so we could find out peoples needs and concerns. Inspired questions are really hard because they are different with everyone. and so we were in this part member families home and we were trying to figure out why the father will not be baptized and Elder Ferris just paused and we were both just looking at the father and then Elder Ferris asked a question, and it didn't sound all flowing and smooth but he said the right words and this man just opened up and said all of his concers. . . . and how to overcome them. It just really goes to show how the holy ghost can help us! If we are striving to listen to it and do what it prompts us, every thing will work out, even if we don't know how! and that same experience happened a few more times last week, and so it wasn't just a coincidence!
We have been so busy! our ward list has over 900 people on it, so we always have names to visit. I am loving the mission! I know that Heavenly Father will bless us in our efforts as long as they are righteous! I am grateful to have the gospel in my life, it has made all the difference! I pray for you all at home, I hope you can feel it! I love you. and I love the prophet have a great week

April 11, 2016

This last week was so crazy! it went by so fast! We were able to meet up with President Maxwell for zone interviews, he is the kindest man. Even though he has so many missionaries to look after he still remembers little things about my life, just a little while ago he asked me how my fathers new job was going. I have no idea how he remembered that! But he is a very quiet soft spoken man! He is very intelligent and you can tell that he is called of God by how strong the spirit is with him. He is working super hard to prepare the mission for the new mission president and companion, President and Sister Vidmar. we have been able to see president a lot over the last couple of weeks and he is so inspiring, he has a quiet confidence that helps us as missionaries to stay motivated and on track! I'm so thankful that I was called to serve under his stewardship!

Since the time difference, we have general conference one week after you do, so this Saturday and Sunday we sat in our stake centre for ten hours and were nourished by the good word or God! I LOVE CONFERENCE! its so crazy being on a mission because I feel like I am listening on behalf of the 50,000+ people that live in our area! I ended up taking 18 full pages of notes. . . .in my BIG notebook! There was so much revelation! I felt like some of the main topics addressed were: priesthood keys, families, relationships, and agency! I was inspired by the two talks that our prophet gave! he spoke on staying worthy to qualify for the power of heaven, and also using our agency correctly to make it back to heaven "to choose the harder right, rather than the easier wrong." Im so thankful that we have a prophet on the earth today! I know he is called of God, I love him, and I sustain him! I cannot wait to get the conference edition of the ensign so I can study the talks all over again!

I sent a lot of pictures this week, on Sunday night the assistants to the president, Elder Steele and Elder Eyring (yes President Eyrings grandson) called us and asked if we would like to drive with them along the great ocean road and to the twelve apostles (those huge rock formations along the coast) it would end up being over a seven hour drive but we were so excited! I was able to see the coast line of Australia and learn a lot about the culture! its such an amazing country, I'm so glad I was called here, this is the mission for me! I hope that you all have an amazing week, I am praying for you! I love you! and I love this gospel! it is true! Christ lives, and through him we will find all happiness!

I would like to add my testimony. Christ lives and so we can draw strength from Him and his atonement. One thing that stood out to me during conference was that life is not fair, if it was fair there would be no resurrection, no repentance, no change, no hope. But because Christ payed the debt, balanced the scale, made the perfect sacrifice, we can all have hope we can all change, we can all repent, and we all will be resurrected. I know its true ma, and it all started because I was able to lean on yours and dads testimony when I was young and follow your example, so thank you! i will pray for grandma, i love her so much! i hope everything is okay. i love you mom, have a good night! love elder wiser

March 27, 2016

Hello every one, this week has been great! so I keep learning more about my companion! He is good at everything he does! He was a skater and surfer before he came on the mission. and I found out this week that he can also do the "Melbourne shuffle" the dance style that we used to do back at home! This morning for workouts we just Melbourne shuffled around the kitchen to no music haha it was great! but this last p-day he had the crazy idea to build nun-chucks out of rolled up magazines and shoe laces, so thats what we are holding in the picture! We honestly wrestle every single day haha he is so much bigger than me but we have a great time! We both started to get some big bruises from messing around with the nun-chucks so we decided to destroy them hahaha we burried our weapons of war ;)
Our area is going fantastic, we have had alot of organizing and cleaning to do though. We had a flat inspection on Thursday and there was no way we were going to pass, so we completely gutted the whole flat and got everything organized, and its true that the spirit cannot dwell in unclean places! so I would like to leave the invitation that parents always leave, to clean your room! it doesn't just make you and your parents happy but it really invites the spirit! and also while cleaning out this forbidden closet we found hundreds of old teaching records that we are now sorting through, we have already found one new investigator named Glen from the pile!  cleaning is awesome!

So we are working with a few families and they are so close to baptism! James Latu is a 19 year old and he loves the gospel and he comes to church every sunday, but he has no where to live so he lives under the same roof of his girlfriend and her family. . . . and so he cant be baptized until he moves out, but we will be meeting with him tomorrow! and another family, the Lomu family, they are part Samoan and the four kids have just recently been baptized but the mom and dad are not married yet and so they are trying to get married soon! When we went to visit them last week they had been reading their scriptures and having a wonderful family home evening! It was great! and we found some new investigators last week! We are going to be so busy this next week. I love it.

We had an amazing experience on Easter sunday, we decided to go visit a man in the ward named bro Poole, he is in a terminal care unit with a progressing desease, it started in his feet where he lost the ablilty to move his toes and progressed up his body until now he can only move his head and talk! He can't live with his family or do any of the things he used to do. So we decided to go visit to see if their was anything we could do to help, when we walked in their were all of the gospel pictures covering the walls and he was listning to the Book of Mormon audio tape and just smiling away! All of the trials that he has gone through recently have only strenghtened his testimony, later in our conversation we got talking about missionary work, bro Poole is amazing! every person that comes into the room he bears testimony to them of the divinity of Christ and how it has blessed his life. This man is confined to a wheelchair and is unable to do anything for himself was inviting everyone within the sound of his voice to learn more about Christ! I am so thankful that we have this gospel in our lives! It means everything to me, all of the happiness that I have felt relates back to the gospel and blessings! I know that Christ lives and that because of him we are able to change! I'm thankful for the gift of the Holy Ghost that comforts and guides me through life, and I know that if I follow the promptings I will make it back to live with my loving Heavenly Father! happy Easter everyone, I hope you felt the spirit of the lord! I love Him and He loves us! He is with us always

have an amazing week
love Elder Wiser!

March 20, 2016

Hello everyone! It has been a very crazy two weeks with lots of changes, I don't know if you know or not but last Tuesday I got another call from president (scary every time) and he asked me if I would move to another area mid transfer. So I packed my stuff and moved to a new area called Dandenong! its so amazing here, it has some big markets that make it feel like the city but its mostly suburb, our area is not very big but there are three sets of missionaries in the Dandenong ward. We have the assistants to the president and the sister training leaders and then us! but when I came into the area it didn't have an area book and some of the organization had been lost during some recent changes but last week we got every thing back in order! and so this week we are really excited to get in and get to work!

My companions name is Elder Ferris! I don't even know where to start, he is fantastic! He is from Perth, but he was born in new Zealand! He is the youngest of sixteen children! He slightly resembles "the rock" and he has the best "Arnold Swartzenager" (pardon spelling) impersonation! He weighs 120 kgs and that is about 265 pounds so when we wrestled this week he totally destroyed me! He is an amazing teacher, and He is very talented at finding! Im excited to be able to learn from him and serve with him! I wish I could tell you more about the investigators in the area but I don't know very many yet. We are working with a nine year old named Nathan. his family is less active but they are wanting to make some changes. we think he will be baptized in April. and we set up some appointments for this week that look really promising. There are a lot of humble people in this area.

So the missionaries in this area are notorious for . . . . . you guessed it Basketball! like the one sport that I never practiced haha, so a couple of time a week the AP's come pick us up at 5:30 and they all play a basketball game while I am alone on the other hoop practicing my shots! one day I will be good!

This area is going to be so good! Im really excited for  this next week. expecially easter! We are hoping that peoples hearts will be softened and more open to learn about Jesus Christ and his Gospel! this morning I read an amazing chapter of the Book of Mormon! its 3 Nephi 27  it talks about Jesus Christ being the perfect sacrifice for mankind and what role he plays in our life! but one thing really stood out to me, this is after Jesus had left the deciples and it says that they went around teaching and baptizing in his name, but then they all had the question of "what should we name this church" and so they spent time fasting and praying and it says that Christ came down in the midst of them and gave them and asked have you read the scriptures they say to do everything in my name, so name the church after me. and it just made me think that all my questions can be answered through fasting and pray, He might not come stand next to me and tell me personally, but he has already answered them through the scriptures and through modern prophets and through leaders friends and family! Christ loves us and he wants us to be able to find answers, all we have to do is ask and we will receive and knock and it will be opened unto us! I know that Christ lives and that he paid the price for us! I love him, and Im so grateful that I have the blessing of the gospel in my life! have an amazing easter weekend! and if you have the chance to read 3 Nephi 27 with a question in mind then do it, because its amazing, and you will get an answer! I love you all have a great week
